چکیده

A traditional optical imaging device uses a single high quality lens designed to project the field of view onto a sensor array for direct image creation. A camera with a flatter form factor using an array of smaller lens elements would create an array of smaller lower resolution images. Reconstruction of high resolution images from multiple low resolution images at various displacements is a well studied, ill posed problem. Using lenses with different imaging characteristics improves theoretical performance results and also reduces the general image reconstruction problem to a set of loosely coupled smaller reconstructions. Performance limits for reconstruction from multiple lower resolution images is considered as a function of measurement bit precision, measurement noise, and lens model uncertainty.

Optimization of Head CT Protocol to Reduce the Absorbed Dose in Eye Lenses and Thyroid: A Phantom Study

Introduction: Utilization of computed tomography (CT) scans is increasing annually. This study aimed to reduce the absorbed dose of sensitive organs in the head (eye lenses and thyroid) and to assess changes in resultant images quality in head scans when the radiation dose is decreased. Material and Methods: An anthropomorphic phantom was examined with head protocols in both helical and sectio...

Two View Line-Based Matching, Motion Estimation and Reconstruction for Central Imaging Systems

The primary goal of this thesis is to develop generic motion and structure algorithms for images taken from constructed scenes by various types of central imaging systems including perspective, fish-eye and catadioptric systems. Assuming that the mapping between the image pixels and their 3D rays in space is known, instead of image planes, we work on image spheres (projection of the images on a...

A New Approach for Quantitative Evaluation of Reconstruction Algorithms in SPECT

ABTRACT Background: In nuclear medicine, phantoms are mainly used to evaluate the overall performance of the imaging systems and practically there is no phantom exclusively designed for the evaluation of the software performance.  In this study the Hoffman brain phantom was used for quantitative evaluation of reconstruction techniques. The phantom is modified to acquire t...

A Study on Robustness of Various Deformable Image Registration Algorithms on Image Reconstruction Using 4DCT Thoracic Images

Background: Medical image interpolation is recently introduced as a helpful tool to obtain further information via initial available images taken by tomography systems. To do this, deformable image registration algorithms are mainly utilized to perform image interpolation using tomography images.Materials and Methods: In this work, 4DCT thoracic images of five real patients provided by DI...
